Running Payroll
Pay groups, creating and reviewing a run, corrections, payment files.
How a pay period turns into paid employees, from the first click to the funds leaving your account.
Pay groups & periods
Payroll → Pay Groups is where each recurring payroll population lives — one group per pay frequency and territory. Its period calendar is generated automatically and extended as you go, so you’re never short of an upcoming period to run.
Creating a pay run
From Payroll → Pay Runs, start a new run by picking a pay group and the period to pay. The wizard calculates gross pay, statutory deductions and net pay for every active employee in that group, using each territory’s statutory rules and each employee’s assigned pay elements and (for timesheet-driven groups) approved hours.
Reviewing a run
Open a pay run to see every employee’s calculation, expandable down to a step-by-step trace of how each statutory deduction was derived — useful when a number needs explaining. From here you can also generate the pay run’s register and variance reports (under the run’s Reports tab).
Corrections
Found an error after a run has been finalized? Payroll → Adjustments takes you to the Pay Runs list filtered to corrections. A correction is itself a first-class pay run, recalculated against the original with a reason recorded, so the audit trail stays complete.
Payment files
Payments → Payment Files generates the disbursement file your bank needs to pay a finalized run, debited from that currency’s primary funding account (set up on Company Profile). Each instruction lines up to one employee’s net pay in their pay run.
Voiding a run
A run that hasn’t been paid out yet can be voided from its detail page, with a reason recorded. A voided run stays visible for audit purposes but is excluded from reporting totals.
